The Maltings Limited recently employed the services of Micross Creative, part of the wider Micross Group, to re-design their website as they embark on their ambitious expansion plans.

Kathy added, “Following our brief, Micross Creative designed a website which is both contemporary and easy to use. It will put us in good stead as we look to grow our services over the coming months.”

The Maltings Limited is redeveloping 17,000 sq ft of unused space to create a mixture of self-managed and serviced office accommodation.

The new office space will be the first time The Maltings has ever offered serviced accommodation , and, in a bid to cater for the needs of start-ups and SMEs, tenants will enjoy access to flexible leases as well as communal board rooms, hot desking facilities and video conferencing suites.

The redevelopment costing in excess of £2 million comes in response to increased interest in The Maltings, which is almost at capacity with BD Consulting (UK) Ltd and JacBee Ltd recently taking up office space. The Maltings is now home to over 15 businesses, all of whom enjoy both 24 hour security and on-site parking.

Managing director of The Maltings, Kathy Fox said; “Despite a difficult year, interest in our office space has remained strong and we have fortunately been able to weather the economic storm and keep our occupancy levels high. Due to an increase in demand, we have decided to redevelop a vast expanse of unused space at The Maltings into new office facilities. Being providers of office accommodation for a number of start-ups and SMEs, we know that there is an attraction to the flexible tenure that we offer, with no hidden costs.

Our new development will continue to meet the needs of these sectors, by providing a mixture of serviced and self-managed offices, and flexible rental arrangements to meet long or short stay requirements. Office suites will range in size from 250 to 1,500 square feet and tenants will benefit from around-the-clock access, 24-hour on-site security, CCTV cover, on-site parking as well as new facilities such as video conferencing and hot desking.”

The redevelopment is due to be complete by Spring 2011.

Patronprint, a Welsh print company, has rented office space in The Maltings for the last 25 years, after moving into the Grade II Listed Building in 1985.

Established in 1984, Patronprint has prospered at its base in The Maltings, producing and supplying print solutions including stationery, brochures and magazines to businesses across South Wales.

Managing Director of Patronprint, Pat Northway said: “When we first launched Patronprint we ran it from home. However, as the Company grew we needed a larger space to carry out the day-to-day running of the business. The Maltings were able to offer us both affordable and flexible office space, and we have been so impressed with the level of service they offer and excellent location, that we haven’t needed to look elsewhere for alternative accommodation. As a result, we are still here 25 years later and still going strong.”

Located on the edge of the City Centre, The Maltings has proved to be a popular location for a number of flourishing businesses, including Micross IT, freshbaked Business Services Group and the South Wales Chamber of Commerce.
