THE MALTINGS INTRODUCES ELECTRIC POWERED DELIVERY VAN
Results of an internal study has found that even in hard financial times, the green agenda remains a surprisingly critical factor in purchasing decisions.
As part of an in-house service review by the Cardiff-based Records Management company, The Maltings Ltd, a survey of its customers’ satisfaction highlighted that for the company to enhance its offering, it needed to become even more eco-friendly.
Survey respondents – ranging from legal, banking, healthcare, insurance, media, entertainment and public sectors – overwhelmingly cited good ‘green’ credentials as essential when giving consideration to selecting a supplier.
In response, The Maltings has introduced the first in a new fleet of electric vans to its core business service. The electric van will deliver archive records with zero emissions and lower noise pollution in and around the busy Cardiff city centre.
The green agenda has The Maltings to think differently. As a business, the bottom line is a constant consideration, but they are acutely aware that they have to compete on other service benefits, not just cost. Their decision to introduce electric vans to the business was connected first and foremost with a sense of corporate responsibility, and to reflect the priority given to green issues by their customers.”
With a client base of more than 600 companies from both England and Wales, The Maltings is Wales’ largest independent Records Management provider. Its environmental policy already includes targets for minimising waste, reducing energy consumption and that of harmful emmissions. The company also takes a proactive approach to encouraging suppliers to adopt sound environmental policies. It’s confident that this latest development will help establish The Maltings amongst South Wales’ most green companies.
